In August 2021 Microsoft released Windows Server 2022 Standard, the successor to the 2019 version, and it comes with some exciting new features.

The focus has essentially been on improving three key areas and making them fit for the future:

Security: Windows Server 2022 is more secure than ever before.
Azure Integration: Integrated hybrid capabilities help to further increase efficiency.
Application Platform: Improved management of applications.

Security - Comprehensive all-round protection ex works

Windows Server 2022 is better equipped for the future than ever before, thanks to numerous security improvements. Secured core servers allow you to protect your confidential data against external attacks. They are supported by the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM 2.0), comprehensive firmware protection, secure UEFI startup and virtualization-based security (VBS). In addition, secure connections like HTTPS and TLS 1.3 are enabled by default to ensure that data is always protected during transmission.

Together, these security technologies meet the most stringent data privacy and security requirements. They present potential attackers with an insurmountable obstacle without reducing performance and productivity.

Azure - Extensive integration in the cloud

Another area that has been significantly improved in Windows Server 2022 is its Integration with Microsoft's Azure. Azure Arc-enabled servers can be easily connected and managed with Azure because the user interface has been specifically designed for this. The Windows Admin Center also makes administration easier and faster than ever before. Microsoft completes the package with numerous Azure Automanage features (Attention: Some of these can only be used with Datacenter: Azure Edition).

Application platform - Flexible management of apps

Windows Server 2022 Standard also features an enhanced platform to make it easier to manage applications and apps. The container size of images is up to 40% smaller than before. As a result, applications launch much faster and deliver better performance. Similarly, .NET applications can now be better containerized and made available to other Azure services.

So, the improved application platform of Windows Server 2022 is yet another building block to help you with your work as a server admin.

Other features of Windows Server 2022 Standard

Microsoft Edge: The outdated and unloved Internet Explorer is now history. Microsoft Edge is built on the secure and reliable Chromium open-source standard, but also comes with speed and many functions.

Network performance: The performance of UDP has been greatly improved thanks to the QUIC protocol, which is becoming more and more important due to increasing streaming and gaming. But also TCP now works much faster and more reliably thanks to TCP HyStart++, while actively reducing packet loss to a minimum. Better virtual switches in Hyper-V complete the package.

Storage: Microsoft has simplified and improved the migration of storage. In addition, you can now flexibly adjust the speed of storage repairs to better distribute performance. If there is a deviation in data integrity, Server 2022 Standard offers particularly fast repair and synchronization.

Microsoft Office Support: Windows Server 2022 Standard core-16 supports the latest versions of Office, including Office 2016, 2019, and 2021. Office 365 apps are not supported on Windows Server 2022.

Server 2022 Standard minimum system requirements

Processor: 64-bit 1.4 GHz processor compatible with x64 instruction set. Additional security features such as (DEP) and NX bit should also be supported.
Memory: 512 MB (2 GB for Server with Desktop Experience installation option), Error Correcting Code (ECC) type or similar technology for physical host deployments.
Hard disk space: 32 GB minimum. GUI installation requires an additional 4 GB.
Network adapter: An Ethernet adapter with a throughput of at least 1 gigabit per second. Must meet the PCI Express architecture specification.
Graphics: Graphics device and monitor with Super VGA resolution (1024 x 768) or higher.
Optional: An Internet connection is required to use all online features.

We only offer product keys for the activation of the respective computer programs. This is not yet a license.
The license is formed only from the respective installation and the resulting acceptance of the terms of use. These terms of use regulate the right to use the software between you and the respective manufacturer.
The principle of exhaustion is normally met or the license is "used up" as soon as it has been lawfully placed on the market for the first time. The present offer is software which has been put into circulation for unlimited use in the form of an activatable product key with the possibility of downloading the program. Microsoft or the respective other software provider has received an appropriate remuneration for this.
With us you get access to particularly attractively priced used product keys from volume license agreements, which - from a legal point of view - are to be treated in the same way as parts of volume licenses at the initial purchase.

2. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

For distance contracts concluded by telephone, on the Internet or when ordering from a catalogue, EU law provides for the possibility for consumers to withdraw from the contract for a certain period of time ("right of withdrawal"). A consumer in this sense is any natural person who concludes a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor self-employed. Consumers have the right to cancel the contract within fourteen calendar days without giving reasons. The revocation period begins on the day the contract is concluded.

In order to comply with the revocation period, it is sufficient to send the notification of the exercise of the right of revocation to Keys.Express GmbH before the end of the revocation period.

If you revoke this contract, we must reimburse you for all payments which we have received from you for the corresponding order, including delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs which result from the fact that you have chosen a different type of delivery than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), immediately and at the latest within fourteen calendar days from the day on which we receive notification of your revocation of this contract. For this repayment we will usually use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you. In no case will you be charged for this refund.

3. USED SOFTWARE

Used software is available for sale in the European Union as well as in Switzerland according to current jurisdiction provided that the necessary conditions are met. The necessary conditions are as follows:

The software must have been originally placed on the market in the territory of the EU or another EEA contracting state or Switzerland by way of sale with the consent of the rights’ holder.
The license for the software must have been granted in return for the payment of a fee which should enable the rights’ holder to obtain a remuneration corresponding to the economic value of the copy of the software.
The rights’ holder has granted the first buyer the right to use the software permanently (unlimited).
Improvements and updates, which the computer program downloaded by the subsequent purchaser has in comparison with the computer program downloaded by the first purchaser, must be covered by a maintenance contract concluded between the author/right’s holder and the first purchaser.
The original licensee must have rendered his copies unusable.
In addition, the seller must also inform the customer that the purchase of a product key by transmitting a combination of numbers and letters in digital form does not yet constitute a license to use the program legally.
