Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB is a special edition of Windows 10 that allows business’ customers to obtain the necessary updates. It is intended for use with certain computer systems that require service updates for many years but do not use many of the Windows 10 apps. This operating system is usually used for ATMS, point-of-sale systems or computers that control medical equipment. These types of computers usually perform only one specific and important task.
Stable and Secure Operating System for Business
Computers that are eligible for Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB should run as stably as possible and be protected from external threats. Changes in the user interface, on the other hand, are of little importance for these devices. For these reasons, the LTSC or LTSB licensing model prevents the computers from getting common feature updates. Only the regular service updates that provide security are uploaded. It is a Windows 10 version without Apps, Store, Cortana and Edge.
Version with Long-Term Support
LTSB stands for "Long Time Servicing Branch," as it is the "branch" of Windows operating systems that are supported for up to 10 years. The name of this service branch changes to "Long Term Servicing Channel" (LTSC) in 2018/2019. Unlike the "semi-annual servicing channel" common in the office, there are never any feature updates via LTSB. Instead, a new LTSC version of the operating system appears every two or three years. Users can choose to upgrade, or stay with the original version for up to 10 years. The workload of the company's IT staff can be minimized with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB.
Slim OS without Unnecessary Apps
Each new release of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB will support each new processor. This is ensured by the "Standard Silicon Support Policy", which is followed by established operating system manufacturers. This means that there will always be a version of this business operating system that suits newly developed processors. In essence, the LTSB version has the same features as the Semi-Annual servicing channel version of Windows 10 Enterprise. However, there are no applications on this version. Windows 10 LTSB increases the performance of computers, which are intended for machine control, telephone systems, and embedded systems in ATMs or kiosks.
